The former Perlis tactician who had an above average campaign with Perak last season will be under pressure to win at least a title as the management has set a goal of winning one trophy if they were to assess the season as a success.

After beating the 'Postmens', 3-1, the man dubbed as 'Cikgu Jan' stated that this game was for the players to gain some match fitness and at the same time, he wanted to find the right combination of players for his first eleven.
Perak's captain, Shahrulnizam Mustapha stated that the officials and the players have the same vision and goals for the side as they want to appease the needs of the fans by winning at least a trophy for the 2012 season.
"The vision and target set by the management certainly adheres with my personal aim, as I want to help Perak dominate the M-League and at the same time, prove to the other teams that we are back on track"
When asked about the signings of Serbian striker, Lazar Popovic and Slovakian midfielder, Michal Kubala, the 30 year old midfielder stated that they have improved the squad and their combination with the local lads will improve game by game.

"Since they started playing for Perak, they have brought in vast tactical awareness and this has improved the squad considerably,

Perak will kick off their season by facing reigning FA Cup champions, Terengganu on the 10th of January at their fortress, The Perak Stadium.
