Sir Alex Ferguson, who backed Wenger, when the French manager was criticised by fans, I'm sure the 69 year old scottish manager would be happy but at the same sympathy towards his rival colleague.
It was a just masterclass performance from Manchester United and the players who played in the match just absorbed the atmosphere and used it to their advantage.
The team exploited Arsenal's frail squad but the scoreline was just INSANE. Hattrick by Wayne Rooney, two goals from the fantastic Ashley Young and goals from Park Ji Sung(Impressive goalscoring record against the Gunners), Nani and Danny Welbeck sealed the tie.
Special mention should go to Ashley Young. Brilliant piece of business by Ferguson as the England Winger has proved to be a hit with the team. Two brilliantly taken goals, the 26 year old winger was a revelation. His runs, distributions and crosses were enough to petrify the Arsenal defence. His uber goals were just a marvel to watch. I was distraught when Arsenal conceded the two beautiful goals but worthy mention should go to the lad.
Wayne Rooney's hattrick was icing on the cake for Manchester United. Two brilliantly taken free kicks and a penalty, what more else do you want. Szcnescny, whom I felt could have done better with the command of his wall and also positioning, was left bemused by Rooney's goals. Anderson would be a happy man as the Brazilian won the psychological game against the young pole.
The striker led his team with gusto and his positional plays and movements were enough to sink the Gunners. The Red Devils would surely rely on the 26 year old this season and I'm sure he will be a much better player in the weeks to come.
Danny Welbeck looks to be an exciting prospect though his was curtailed by a hamstring injury. The 21 year old striker, who had loan spells with several clubs, has been a thorn for many teams and against Arsenal, the way he outmuscled Johan Djourou and Laurent Koscielny was pure determination. When he recovers, he will surely feature in more games and he will be a commodity which Ferguson wouldn't want to let go.
David De Gea, who had a nervy start to the season has bounced back and his penalty save was the decisive moment. Though he could have done better with Theo Walcott's goal, he will be a star in the team. The saves he made during the game was pure class and with time on his side, he will be a frightening prospect!
With such great team display, Alex Ferguson would surely be the favourites for the title. Gunning for the 20th title, the team is well equipped for the season and they have what it takes to be the team to beat.
It may be a heartache for me but for the Manchester United fans, you have every reason to be optimistic, You've got a formidable that is able to sustain any challenges.
Avinesh's verdict: If they were to continue this momentum, they will keep the title..and Safiq Rahim would be the happiest dude today!!! haihhh....
