MCKK maintain their rugby supremacy..

Malay College Kuala Kangsar ruled the CIMB-MCKK U-14 Rugby Tournament as both their teams won the plate and cup finals.

Renowned for their rugby prowess since their days of establishment, the U-14 didn't disappoint their school as they white washed their opponents in the finals.

Part of the CIMB Foundation-Cobra rugby development programme, this tournament is a first for the Northern Region of Perak and to commemorate the tournament, they organised clinics and talks about the development of Rugby in Malaysia.

First time being held, MCKK were the host for the tournament as schools from the northern region of Perak took part in the three day tournament which started on 30th September and ended last Sunday.

In the plate final, MCKK B, which comprised of the reserve players whitewashed their opponents. SMK Dr. Burhanuddin, 19-0 in a one sided final.

2 tries and three penalty conversions were enough to secure the tie as Mohammad Aiman proved to be the toast of the team as he converted all the penalties and moved the forward line of the team with ease.

SMKDB's scrum were unable to penetrate the rummages of MCKK B's team as they were overpowered by their opponents bigger physique and determination to maintain their dominance in the game.

In the Plate final, MCKK A, faced bitter rivals SMK King Edward as both teams wanted to gain supremacy in the northern region of Perak.

However, MCKK A came out victorious as 2 tries from Ahmad Murthadha and Ilham Iskandar were enough to sink the determined King Edward side who scored a try through Ahmad Safwan.

Zachrya Afiq, the penalty specialist for the team, converted two conversions in each half. The King Edward came back strongly in the 2nd half but the MCKK youngsters were able to withstand the pressure from their opponents and come out victors with the score at 14-5.
