Barton ohh Barton...If Twitter wasn't enough, Now he is doing it on the field!

The title says it all, Joey Barton, the man who left Manchester City for the Magpies in 2oo7 is at it again. The English lad will be hogging the limelight for his role in the sending off of Arsenal debutant, Gervinho.

Before I get into him, let me basically describe about the game between Arsenal and Newcastle. Many Arsenal fans would be basically posting on facebook or tweeting on Twitter about Wenger's hesitance in signing players.

Their only star signing, Gervinho played today whereas Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and Carl Jenkinson were in the subtitutes bench. These are signings which everyone wouldn't purr about. Many fans will certainly be demanding for new signings as the players who played against Arsenal couldn't muster a goal against the rigid Newcastle defence.

Before we jump to any conclusions or statements, we shall look at the whole gameplay itself. Newcastle, under the tutelage of Alan Pardew, had their mind set on stiffing Arsenal's attack and play a counter attacking game. However, Newcastle were only able to get chances in scrapes.

Wenger is making an intent by drafting Rosicky into the squad to play Nasri's role while Welsh Wizard, Aaron Ramsey is tasked to fill in Fabregas's boots. A big task but nevertheless, they did their best to impose themselves.

However, both these players have different style of play and to emulate Nasri and Fabregas would be an arduous task for them.

The tactics are still the same as Wenger sticks with his attacking philosophy which was match made in heaven for Cash-ri and Barca-regas. The intent and play is still there but the players couldn't get the much needed as the Coloccini led defence was just too strong.

Blaming Wenger for his inability to change the game is unwarranted as Newcastle had a plan to stiffle our players. From here, Professor can learn a thing or two, as he needs physically imposing players in the squad.

Emmanuel Frimpong, who can be dubbed as 'The Tank' is one player that can ruffle the feathers of any players and Wenger need players of his stature in order to survive against teams like this.

Special mention should go to Vermaelen and Koscielny as they showed brilliant understanding and I can safely say that the defence has improved rapidly. The return of Verminator is big boost for the team as we can see the defence looks assured with his presence.

Wojciech Szcnescny is a star in the making as his presence in goal is enough to strike fear into opposition teams. His awareness, positioning and command of the area should be lauded as imposing player like Demba Ba and Shola Ameobi were frustrated by his mere presence in goal.

The man who came all the way from Lille only to see himself walk into the tunnel after being sent off by Peter Walton(he needs to get specs!!). His jinking runs and initiative to pressure defenders is impressive and he is bound to be a super signing for Arsenal.

However, he needs to improve on his final ball and he needs to be more brave in front of goal. If he repeats his feat like he did in Cologne, he will be a fan favourite in Emirates.

Overall, it was disappointing to draw at St.James park but I would like to take the postives first as the season is still long way ahead. If Arsenal had lost, It would have been a different story(In my opinion la)

Now lets come to the eccentric Joey 'Butt head' Barton. First, he was a nuisance at Manchester City. Now he is at it again, as he needlessly provoked Gervinho whom I think didn't dive to get the penalty. There was a contact but the referee continued play.

Fair enough for everyone, but Barton(Still reeling from the stamp from Song, good one Song!! hahahaha) was livid for no reason and he provoked the young lad from Cote D' Ivoire.

I thought the referee will brandish a red card to him but he pulled out the red for Gervinho whereas Barton(His hair is just horrid, when he was caressing his hair, reminded me of Indian Flop star, T. Rajendar!) was only given a yellow.

Peter Walton should be reprimanded for this situation as he should have sent off both of them not only one. The call was controversial and the way Barton fell for that small pat on his head. I asked myself, did he go for acting classes. He will be great at Hollywood!

Avinesh's verdict: Barton should get a better hairdresser and to all the Arsenal fans, the season is still long and we have to trust Wenger's rhetorics. He is well versed and I'm sure he will do something to chart the fortunes of the club! Patience is what we need... We have been patient for 6 years and I'm sure the results are bound to come...Just hang in there guys! =)
