Fans vent their frustrations...

In the game against Johor, Perak fans showed their displeasure towards FAM as they unfurled banners which despise the main footballing body of Malaysia.

5 players, Akmal Rizal Rakhli, Shahrulnizam Mustapha, Azmeer Yusoff, Syazwan Roslan and Naril Nourdin are undergoing a 7 game ban which was imposed by FAM.

The ban was given due to their involvement in their altercation with Perak vs Sabah match referee at the Navy Stadium in Lumut. Perak FA appealed against the decision but their appeal was rejected as FAM claimed that the association handed in their appeal before the stipulated deadline.

Not happy with the decision, many fans have ridiculed FAM for their decision. Some have posted about their views in their blogs, the involved players showed their displeasure by posting about it in their facebook profiles and some fans have even gone great miles by sending letters to FAMs headquarters at Kelana Jaya.

Today's game, was the right time and right channel to vent their frustrations. The banners unfurled during the game told to be taken away by the authorities as the game was aired live on Astro Arena and the fans made their feelings public with their banners.

They even sang songs about FAM and many times the Silver State Ultras called FAM 'bangsat'! Their anger was merited but to me they should use other channels to vent their frustrations.

After the game, Perak Fan Club President, fondly known as Yeob Aziz collected signatures from the fans to send a memorandum to FAM. His step was lauded by the fans and they are hopeful that their voices will be heard by the association helmed by Sultan Ahmad Shah.

With such grumblings from the fans, it is hoped that the re-appeal by Perak FA will be considered by FAM as they are crippling the squad with the bans of the 5 talented lads.

Seven game ban is almost likened to a death sentence in football. For their conduct, a maximum of 3 game ban would have been sufficient and the fine should also be reduced.

Only time will tell, whether FAM will make the right decision and give a good news for the Silver state fans.

Avinesh's verdict: Hmmmm...the banners unfurled were funny but I felt that they could have used different channels to vent their feelings. Showing it to the public will not help much..Just my opinion...Do not take this personally..=)
