Germany - The WAIT will end...

Germany, have been consistently good in major tournaments but they will always miss out on the elusive silverware. Having watched them since the 2002 World Cup, I've been in awe with their technical game.

No team can come close with their consistency. Even Brazil, who have won many major football tournament are inconsistent as they will be impressive at one point and at another point, they will self detonate!

The 2012 European Championship Qualifiers, have seen Germany being the first team to book their tickets in the final spot. Being the favourites, they have cruised against opponents like Turkey, Belgium and Austria, the team led by Joachim Loew can now plan for an assault.

The Euro which is held every 4 years was last won by Spain and many are expecting Spain to be keep the trophy at Madrid. However, the team dubbed as Die Mannschaft, will surely spring a surprise and the would want to win the trophy they last won in 1996.

Having breed player like Lotthar Mattheur, Christoph Ziege, Gerd Mueller, Franz Beckenbaeur and Andreas Moller, the current batch of players is aided with experience and young blood.

Experienced lads like Miroslav Klose, Arne Friedrich and Bastian Schwesteinger has been the pivotal figures in the squad. Having played in many tournaments, these players have what it takes to bring Germany to the next level. Players like Friedrich and Klose are nearing their swansong and I'm sure they would want to win the Euro 2012 as it would be special for Klose as it is being in his birth place, Poland.

However, the optimism is much higher now as the youngsters in the squad have matured well and has the ability to bring this team forward. They will be in the set up for many years to come and this is a frightening prospect for other teams as the Die Mannschaft will be a dominating presence in football for many years to come.

Joachim Loew wouldn't have expected such an influx of players but this is his time to break the duck. He has the players, he has team spirit and he has a great backroom staff, what else do you need to prepare for the Euros!

Youngsters like Benedikt Howedes, Thomas Mueller, Mario Goetze, Mesut Oezil, Mats Hummels and Sven Bender are players that have graduated from their age group national teams. This players are regulars with their clubs and they are playing for the best clubs in Bundesliga.

Against Austria. Oezil, Goetze, Badstuber and Mueller impressed and they showed to the fans that the future is bright for Germany. These players will play on for many tournament as they are in the region of 18-21 only. Loew wouldn't have expected them to graduate so fast but their presence have seen the fans forgetting about players like Michael Ballack, Torsten Frings and Christoph Metzelder.

The time is right for Germany to win trophies, These young lad will comprehend players like Per Mertesacker, Lukas Podolski and Cacau to go greater heights. Fresh young blood will surely improve the fortunes of the team.

To be honest, Spain do also have the luxury of having such players but the German youngsters have proved to be quick learners. Player like Thiago Alcantara, Bojan Krkic and Javi Martinez have done well in their age group but when it comes to senior appearances, they still lack the foundations that Goetze, Oezil and Schuerrle have.

I'm expecting this to be a two horse race as Spain and Germany will slug it out for the Euros. Though, it may be too early to predict but with what is happening between these two teams, they look set to be the favourites for the Euros.

My money will go to Germany as they have impressed with their teamwork, determination, technical ability and the sense of togetherness in the team.

Avinesh;s verdict: I know this is out of context, but what has happened to my team, Sweden till I have to comment on Germany..Ibrahimovic has done nothing for them, he only sulks and sulks all the time! Why can't he be like the Germans!! Mann, I'm jealous..and this is dedicated to Long...Macha, this is for you..=)
